Selena Myspace blog: Kiwanis has changed the world for the better, working with UNICEF and other partners to tackle Iodine Deficiency Disorder. Now Kiwanis is deciding what their next Worldwide Service Project will be and I hope they choose Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT).
Kiwanis believes that every child deserves to live a life without the threat of illness. UNICEF stands with them in this belief. If UNICEF is chosen as the partner for the next Worldwide Service Project, together Kiwanis and UNICEF will help save the lives of mothers and their babies from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT) kills one baby..
..every four minutes. MNT can abruptly turn the joy of new life into wrenching tragedy. Its effects are excruciating, tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and become hypersensitive to light, sound and touch. Even a mother’s soothing voice and comforting caress are unbearable for the infant. Few babies survive. Tetanus may claim the mother’s life as well.
In impoverished countries, where women have little access to health care, many are forced to give birth in an unsanitary conditions. Tetanus spores are found everywhere, in the air, soil and contaminated objects. Bacteria can enter the mother’s body through open wounds and pass through a newly cut umbilical cord. Once the baby is infected, a lethal toxin attacks his or her nervous system.
Tetanus is highly preventable. Three doses of a low cost vaccine can protect mothers and babies. If chosen, this project would raise 110 million dollars to help eliminate this deadly disease and save 129 million mothers and their future babies. Ask Kiwanis to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus – a killer disease that can be prevented for $1.80! Tell them UNICEF can help HERE.

“Scott family” — On October 17, 2009, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” traveled to Clarksville, Tennessee celebrity volunteers Usher and Selena Gomez guest in the episode — to give Trina Scott and her three daughters the good news that their problem-ridden home would be rebuilt in just seven days. This episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will air SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.
Trina, 44, met her husband Dave while he was serving with U.S. Army Special Forces in Fort Bragg and it was love at first sight. After his discharge, Dave became a Clarksville police officer. In 2002, he and his partner were on duty when their police car was violently struck by a truck. The car spun out of control, hit a guardrail, caught fire and killed both Dave and his partner almost instantly. Overwhelmed with grief, Trina turned to a group called Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. (C.O.P.S.), which helps the surviving family members of officers killed in the line of duty. Inspired by the help she received from C.O.P.S., Trina devoted all of her free time to the organization and became its President in 2003. The time that Trina dedicates to C.O.P.S. represents essentially a full-time job, and that’s on top of the full time job she works to support her three daughters — Leyla, 17, Deidie, 13, and Alethea, 11. Trina has spent more than $20,000 on the mounting repairs to her small home, but the structural problems caused by termites and water damage remain.
The Scott Family went on vacation to Disneyland while “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” team leader Ty Pennington, designers Michael Moloney, Paige Hemmis and John Littlefield, spearheaded the design efforts for their new home. Also of note for this episode, Usher lends a hand to Paige and John, working side by side to help make the new Scott family house a home; and the family gets to visit Selena Gomez on the set of “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It is executive-produced by Anthony Dominici. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The series is broadcast with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.

According to E-Online reporter Ken Baker, the once in love couple have decided to give it another go. As previously reported, Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez were spotted sharing a moment on a park bench.
Ken says that the duo are a couple again. He tweeted, “You guys have been asking, and now I have an answer: Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez ARE seeing each other again.”

ok, i was reading the news that the reason why taylor swift and taylor lautner broke and they said that it might of been selena. that selena came between taylor and taylor. well that is absolutely NOT true! why would selena even do that such thing? This is deffantly a rumor of cause. taylor swift is really good friends with selena. taylor lautner is good friends with selena. so why? and how did selena and taylor lautner go out? thats what it said on the news but its all rumor if you think it was all true!

Selena Gomez revealed her self-confidence secret to Popstar! Are you critical of yourself? 'Yes! [Laughs] That's a good and bad thing because I'm a perfectionist, so that means I like to do my best and I try to make sure it's that best that I can do. But I am too hard on my self sometimes. More with singing than acting!' Do you get nervous before you perform?
'Yes.. and it's because I mean, I've been doing Wizards for three years and I still get nervous every time we have an audience show because I want it to be the best show it can be. Now, doing music, it's completely different. I like getting butterflies and I think it's good to get nervous.
What has been the biggest change for you? 'What has changed for me being in the business would probably be I've put a guard up a lot more than I normally had. I've very protective of my friends and my feelings and especially being in the limelight you tend to find people who are interested in you that wouldn't normally be interested in you. It's all about what you can get out of person, I feel. So for me, I just try to protect myself and try to pick out who is a true friend and who isn't.'
What's the best self-confidence booster? 'Music. I love music. I love listening to music. It always inspires me, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift's music, those are very empowering, uplifting songs.'
NEWSFLASH: From Ally: It was reported on Australian news that Miley Cyrus was mobbed by fans at Melbourne airport. When Miley arrived she hid in the car for a while and apparently she wasn't very nice to her fans, although she took photos with a few of them.
